I can't believe I was skiing the same mountain today as earlier last week - 15-20 inches of fresh snow sure makes a huge difference! There was definitely enough snow to open a ton of new terrain today, and a bunch more tomorrow. If you have a powder day clause, I seriously recommend putting it to use tomorrow, here's a quick outline of the plan:
We're planing to open the majority of terrain serviced by Thaynes, Pioneer and Crescent Lifts, once snow safety checks have been completed and we're also working on McConkey's, which we're hoping to get open on Tuesday!
To get an idea of what conditions are like on the mountain, you can either trust me (hah!), or check out this video that Brent shot, showing our team getting everything ready to open tomorrow:
How come you guys closed mid-mountain meadows? As I recall, it was open earlier today.
Eric replies:
DrewMarg, Mid-Mountain Meadows has been closed as we are now making snow on it - should reopen soon, thanks!

Eric, great job keeping us informed.
I am coming out to ski in 2 weeks. Hypothetically, if it does now snow another ounce until then, will everything that is now open and that you plan on opening remain open, or will you have to close some stuff down? I ask because I am not sure as to the effect of thousands of skiers on the snow level on given runs.
Thanks
Eric replies:
Skiing and snowboarding does move snow down and to the sides of runs, so theoretically some runs could close if we don't get any new snow for a few weeks. However, it's usually considered a good thing to get skiers and riders onto a run in order to get 'skier compaction' which allows a slope to hold snow better and to be a better surface for the next storm. See you in a few weeks!

How is king con looking? Is it possible that it will be open by the weekend?
Eric replies:
It's looking white! We've been making snow along King Con, Temptation, Broadway and Hot Spot run so I would think that we should have a good shot at getting Con open for the weekend.
