So Eric and his crew may have just had a chance to "sneak out" to get a few photos this morning, but I was out enjoying the new snow all day! Sorry Eric, couldn't resist :). Actually, Eric took some great picts and his video below is very nice. As I write this evening, it looks like our storm has "stalled out" over us. That's weather-geek speak for "it's gonna dump!" Seriously, we could see another foot tonight and up to 3 feet total by the time this storm is done Sunday. What does that mean for us? Well, a couple things.
First, we'll get more terrain open as soon as we can. Be patient locals and visitors, you will have more mountain soon! Second, the Utah Avalanche center has posted a Avalanche Watch for the back country of the Wasatch Range. For more information on that go to this link: http://www.avalanche.org/~uac/newadvisory/advisory.php Today we came across a few locals skiing one of our upper bowls. They were fine today as the winds were light and the snow fell straight down. Tonight and tomorrow though when the winds pick up, things could be pretty sketchy. Remember our upper mountain is as of yet seen no avalanche control work and should be treated like the back country.
Well, I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the new snow. I've got to head home now to start digging out my house.
its lookin good there ...i will be out on the 17thhough the 20th...how much more terrain do u think will be open ...what will open up next

so with all this new snow can you give us some type of time frame for when bonaza will open?
Eric replies:
Trevor - I wrote that Bonanza is scheduled to open tomorrow in my post from yesterday. However, check back on our blog later today as we are currently assessing conditions on the upper mountain and we may well be opening more terrain than what we were thinking yesterday!
