Still don't have those back rodeos dialed? Don't worry, we're giving you an added week to get those tricks in the bag! Park City Mountain Resort is extending the 2010/2011 Winter Season to April 17th, 2011.
It seems that Mother nature refuses to give up on Winter. Park City has been greeted to new snow morning after morning and its forecasted to keep coming down. The conditions are fantastic and we want you to come out and enjoy the mountain!
The best part about extending is that King's Crown will open up to the public in the final week. You'll be able to hit some of the features that the terrain park crew is building for The Launch (with a few modifications so you don't break yourself off.)
Cobra Dogs will be staying open as well! This is our last week of night skiing, so their new hours are 12-4 starting Monday, March 28th.
Looking out the window, the snow is falling as I type and the long-range weather forecast is calling for snow through our NEW scheduled closing day April 17, 2011!
Terrain openings and pricing will be announced at a later date.
In year's past, Snowboarder Magazine's The Launch has put names such as Park City All Star Sage Kotsenburg and Mark McMorris on the radar. It has been hosted by Keystone, Northstar-at-Tahoe, and this year it's coming to Park City Mountain Resort. Snowboarder Mag has had Superpark dialed for over 15 years, and 3 years ago they realized there was a need for a similar format for a crop of younger shreds. Thus, The Launch was born.
The Launch is a literal launching pad for the next generation of snowboarders. Rather than coming together for a contest, The Launch allows these riders to come together in a positive and progressive atmosphere. It's a huge honor to be chosen to host Snowboarder Magazine's The Launch. 50 of the world's best snowboarders under the age of 18 will invade Park City Mountain Resort and prove why they are the future of the sport.
Due to the complexity of the build needed for this event, King's Crown will be closed until after the event. Both Three Kings and The Ridge (which have doubled in size this year) will remain open through the remainder of the season.
To see what goes down at the Launch, peep this video below from Day 4 of The Launch last year at Keystone.
Spring Break 2011 is here! You know what that means. Sunny park laps with your friends, shorts & shades edits, and time to take that goggle tan to the next level.
I might not be in middle school, high school, or even college anymore, but that didn't stop me from kicking off Spring Break last weekend. With temps reaching 50 degrees on the mountain, we busted out the hoodies, shades, Zinka and sent it! Spending the morning in The Ridge (maybe getting schooled by the local snowboard teams) we were fired up. Nothing says Springtime on the mountain like hot laps and with the Eaglet chair servicing only The Ridge park… you can make hot laps until your little heart is content, or you split your pants. Whichever comes first.
If you want to get super rad, you can do Power Park Laps. Get warmed up riding through the Ridge, cruise down Gotcha Cut-Off, cut hard to the left and bam, you're at the top of Three Kings Terrain Park. Throw some stylish tricks in Three Kings and nail that jump line. Then you can reward yourself at the bottom with a tasty Cobra Dog!
If you see a member of the park crew on your way down, make sure to thank them for all the hard work they are putting in. Those guys are killing it this year!
**We want to see your Spring edits! Post them to our Facebook page and if we like them, we'll post them on the blog. So get out there and start filming so we can see what your crew can put together. **
The Eagle Superpipe is open and ready for action. Who will throw the first double corks of the season in the pipe? Who will be the first to go 20 feet out? Which mini-shreds will take their first ever pipe run? Stay tuned as we bring you all the action live (sort of) from the Eagle Superpipe.
We're proud to say that the US Snowboarding team will be training in the Eagle Superpipe from January 7-14 as well as many other podium topping athletes. Every year we see Shaun White, Louie Vito, Torah Bright and many others dialing in their winning moves right here. Not a bad view from the office window.
Our terrain park grooming supervisor and resident pipe builder and cutter, Tyson Goodrich has definitely outdone himself this year. She is a beauty. Get to know Tyson and go behind the scenes of building the world famous Eagle Superpipe in this video. Then get out here and drop in to see for yourself!
Don't want to wait until summer to get your Cobra Dog fix? You don't have to! Cobra Dogs opened its first franchise in Park City Mountain Resort's Three Kings terrain park yesterday. Mad love was shown to Cobra Cory as Stevie Bell, Sage Kotsenburg and Ashley Battersby all came to show their support. The first dog went to Terrain Park manager Jeremy Cooper for all his hard work making this happen.
Come on out and pick up a dog as you cruise through the park.
For the past few weeks there have been rumors about the possibility of Cobra Dogs coming to Park City. Well, let the talk cease, they're here!!! Starting tomorrow, December 28 at 11:00am, the all-natural hot dog, brats and veggie dogs that have been the staple of campers at High Cascade snowboard camp for six summers are coming to Park City Mountain Resort.
The Cobra Dogs trailer is parked at the base of the Eagle Superpipe, and Three Kings Terrain Park, just above the Eagle Lift, and will be open daily from 11:00am-9:00pm through the end of the night riding season on March 27, 2011. In addition, stay tuned for details on the Cobra Dogs Grand Opening Party, including a night rail jam, on January 14, 2011. Who's up for a Cheddaconda "Cobra Style"? We are!

Guess what...we've got booters! If you want to hit jumps in Utah then you better make your way over to Park City because we're the only resort in the state that has 'em. We opened our jump line this week with 30' and 45' jumps.
Park City All Star Sage Kotsenburg gave our jump line his seal of approval earlier this week. Here's a few photos from Sage's session.
Shred season has officially begun! We kicked off Opening Day of the 2010-2011 season with the unveiling of our Kryptonite green features and a new setup off Three Kings chairlift. You can't beat the excitement of Opening Day and First Chair. First Chair meant camping out over night in freezing cold temps and high winds, but it was worth it! These guys definitely earned their bragging rights.
Opening Day saw Park City All Stars Stevie Bell, Sage Kotsenburg and Aaron Biittner as well as Louie Vito in attendance. These guys were stoked to be able to ride at Park City again and weren't afraid to get right to work. This season is shaping up to be one of the best yet. According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning is in effect until Wednesday, November 24, with up to three feet of snow expected. We'll see you on the mountain!
You've been asking for details about Opening Day and here's what we have for you:
