The Crown Is Open!

We opened the crown this morning at about 10.  The traffic is very light as I believe everyone is out riding pow,  which is what I'll be doing once I write this and clock out.  We waited for the first two public to come into the crown and followed them down snapping photos along the way.  So here is an opening run through the Crown, in photos.

This shot was from the opening of the Eagle Superpipe, so I thought I would put in a non-snowing photo.  Tanner Hall pipe practice.

And finally, the official mascot of the park crew this season, and unofficially for the last few years.  So you may see the squirrel posted up on a feature here or there.  If you do, give it a nice bonk.

I would have also liked to introduce the park crew in this post, but I don't have photos of a few people yet.  So look for that in a future post.

Remember, if a park is closed, don't duck the ropes.  Enter the park through the gates.  Don't take ropelines down and don't open a feature if we have closed it off.  If you are taking down a closure put in place, there will be a harsher penalty than getting your pass pulled for a week or two, taking down a closure is not acceptable at all.

SuperparX

Hey guys.

Just maybe a few suggestions. Did anyone feel like the kings jumps were too close together? Kinda like bmx style?... still super fun though. Theres also alot of quarter pipes.

Also, some more down rails/boxes would be epic (i know kings crown theres not alot of space for those.. pretty flat in most areas too... but in pick and shovel maybe?.. after the last jump?) It doesnt even need to be creative or anything.. just some down flat bars, single tubes, set up from the side... whatever you got. I know everyone would be way stoked

Mike Replies: Pete, our snowmaking team will be making snow in the area below the last jump in Pick N Shovel starting tonight which is why there haven't been any features so far. So look for a few items next week in that area. As far as the King Crown jumps, that's how we built them this season, a little closer together, more of a flow from one right into the other. While it means you can't scrub a landing on your butt anymore it makes the whole line flow better as far as speed is concerned.

Thanks!
