Well, December 25 for me was all about snowboarding. I just got a new snowboard - Never Summer Infinity-R - my first women specific board in many, many years. I just kept buying boy boards (I'm tall and could handle them), but it was time for something different. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that equipment can make ALL the difference. My new board rules!! Yesterday was a powder day – we got 18 inches of new snow, but the winds were strong. We headed to my home mountain of Park City Mountain Resort. We basically made laps on Crescent and Silver Skis all morning in oodles of snow with barely another person in sight. It was choice (that means awesome, or great, or super or money or tight. Choice is a New Yorker term that I picked up from my friend, Pam and I really like it). I once was a New Yorker, just a few years ago, but now I find I’m a powder head (one that loves fresh snow…many Park City locals would call themselves this). Anyway, I digress…back to my day at Park City Mountain Resort. I also took my first turns down Waterfall. It’s sort of a local’s secret and a run that I usually miss on my way down the mountain. Not only was yesterday my first time down Waterfall, but I was also the first person down Waterfall. Our wonderful ski patrol had just pulled the line and I crossed it first! It was the BEST feeling (ok, right, it was CHOICE!). The picture is me coming down Waterfall. After the incredible day on the slopes, we went to a holiday party thrown by our neighbors. We had a great time and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Hope you all had as much fun as me. How did you spend your very snowy day (a foot and a half to be exact) on December 25th?

"Choice" Is a New Zealand word not a New York word. I will give you some clips of "bro town" to prove it.
Paula replies: Tracey, I believe you that Choice is a word from New Zealand...you don't have to prove it to me :). I just picked up the word from a New Yorker. Happy New Year!

what about jupiter any info on that?
Paula replies: Hi Peter, thanks for your question. Although we would love to get Jupiter open, there is significant avalanche danger and we need to make sure it is safe before we open it to our guests. We've had quite a few natural slides, and the conditions still aren't adequate for skiing and riding. We will keep you updated as things progress and conditions change. Happy New Year!

Any update on when Quit'N'Time and the Norfolk access area will be open for the season?
Paula replies: Hey New Skier, we should have that area open in a few days. The lower elevation at the base of the Town Runs means we need to make enough snow to carry us through until the end of the season. It would be worse for the people who use these access points if we didn't make enough snow and then it melted in early spring. By then it's too warm and we can't make more snow.
Last year we opened Creole and Town on Dec 27th and Quit 'n Time on Jan 1. This fall we had 50% less cold temperatures than last fall, but luckily we've been able to make a significant amount of snow. We are doing our best to open the Town Runs as quickly as possible.
