Is this seriously April?!
I admit it, I directly copied the title of this post from today's "Picture of the Day."
I also have to say that I completely agree with Matt's description of yesterday as "Are you serious?" I took a bunch of runs up on McConkey's, Pioneer and Jupiter and once again I had another fantastic Monday morning up on the mountain, as a matter of fact, our run down Dead Tree off the High West traverse was one of the best runs I've skied all season!
The forecast is looking like we've got a least one more good storm coming in before our closing day, this coming Sunday, check out this graphic I just saw on the NWS website (I love the red text box!)

I hope to see everyone up on the mountain tomorrow, because there was hardly anyone out yesterday, enjoy the new snow!

you should at least let the park crew setup some jibs on pic n shovel or kings and let season pass holders hike them until the snow melts. I know you guys have to set up for summer operations and do maintence on the lifts and stuff but at least do something small like that or host a rail jam comp because we really shouldn't let this snow go to waste.
Eric replies:
Trevor, I think your idea is cool, but we would need to keep the features up from a maintenance perspective and also have patrol available, neither of which is really feasible. I'll be sure to pass on your idea about a rail jam though!

Just seems that maybe a little priority would be given to the winer season seeing as you are a ski resort. Since when are summer activities so important that you would cut a winter season short to remove the snow and set up summer operations?
Eric replies:
John, our scheduled closing date for winter operations is, and has been April 13. We are not cutting the winter season short, we are simply doing what we and most resorts in the area have been planning on all season.

With the start of the season delayed ,it is a shame one or two more weeks is not possible. I was in pc twice this year and would like to come out the 18th - 20th. Can the powers that be reconsider.
Joe in Atlanta
Eric replies:
Hi Joe, I hate to say it, but all good things must come to an end. And as I note in my previous reply, we have a lot to do once we shut down the lifts this Sunday to get ready for our summer season (and for next winter too). Hope to see you next season.

Your talking about ANOTHER storm on top of a already still 120inch base and your still closing up on sunday and letting all that snow melt away over the next month or two unused. Can we get some season pass holder appreciation and keep it open with the amazing amounts of snow still on our hill? Closing this weekend is ridiculous and not fair to your loyal passholders.
Eric replies:
Drew, the snow at the base will not just be sitting around as we need to start plowing it away to get ready for our summer operations that will be opening just five weeks from our closing day. We also will be doing a lot of seasonal maintenance on the Payday lift in those few weeks and getting started on our summer improvements (which I hope that we'll be announcing any day now).
