Enjoy the weekend - here's what is coming for next season...
It looks like we're going to finally get some Spring skiing and riding conditions, just in time for closing weekend. So, get out and enjoy the last turns for the 2007-2008 season - it sure has been a fun one!
In other news, I'm finally able to pass along the big news that I hinted at a couple of weeks ago, our planned capital improvements for the 2008-2009 winter season - check them out here and here's a picture to give you a hint of what we're going to be up to.

you really should speak to the head management and get rail jam together on pic n shovel because theres so much snow. and guess what? its dumping right now. kind of rediculous to close so soon. The resort could've easily just kept one or 2 lifts open at least on weekends for a while. your just going to end up pushing the summer season back a few weeks because all of the snow wont be gone by them. it was a good year tho
Eric replies:
Sorry for the delay in posting your comment, but I've been out of the office for a bit. We needed to close when we did in order to get ready to open for our summer season.

I can't believe how great a year this has been for skiing ... I've had my grommers on maybe 5 or 6 days. The rest (about 50 days) was all powder and in the trees. We even had decent powder a week before the resorts closed.
Another, high-speed lift from the base is exactly what was needed. (We avoid PayDay because of the crowds. And, use Ski-Team or Eagle.) Thanks for putting that in -- we'll enjoy it next season.
Eric replies:
Nick - glad you enjoyed the season, we look forward to seeing you in 08-09!

The grooming this year was excellent except for the past week especially the last 3 days. No runs on ski team lift were groomed and tycoon, sunrise, double jack, lower single jack and glory hole were all but ignored. Seemed corners were cut at the end
Eric replies:
Jeff, our grooming department was running one long shift as opposed to the two they usually have for our last week or so. They were still grooming over 40 runs per night, but not as many of the Signature Runs that you refer to. Personally I was really stoked that I was skiing knee deep powder off Jupiter Peak on Friday of closing weekend - kudos to our ops department for keeping all terrain open through to the end this year!

This is great news. I love the runs on ski team. Also any other way to get up the mountain besides Pay Day is well overdue.
Eric replies:
Sabrina, I've gotta admit that I'm looking forward to 08-09 now, although I just skied some knee deep powder up on the Peak - what a way to end the season!

Eric replies:
Thank you - and we hope to see you in 08-09.

A quick question on the new lift...I think it's great. I always love new ways to get up the mountain, but how exactly is it going to provide 'direct access' to all of those lifts? Where exactly is the top station going to be?
Eric replies:
James, the top station will be near the radio towers that are uphill of the current Ski Team top terminal. This will allow access back towards the 5-Way Cafe, down any of the 'Load' runs as well any of the runs off the front side of Ski Team/Crescent Ridge.

That's great about the Ski Team replacement. But I was wondering how you guys are going to fit the bottom terminal at the resort center base? It's pretty crowded down at the Payday base with all the people, the alpine coaster, and the zip rider in the same spot.
Eric replies:
TG, the current plan is to locate the bottom terminal in just above the base of the Alpine Coaster. I know that we are very carefully looking at the traffic patterns and this still could change somewhat, but rest assured I'll have pictures this summer to show the construction!
