Bonanza Lift encountered some mechanical problems and went down at approximately 11:30 this morning. So why would I title this blog "A new way to experience the mountain?" Because with Bonanza being out of service you will have to access the mountain a little bit differently (maybe not so different for those who always take Eagle Lift, like me).
What's wrong with the lift? I'm not sure. Our lift maintenance team has been hard at work inspecting the lift to determine what caused the malfunction and assessing what the next steps need to be. What we know at this point is that Bonanza is not scheduled to open tomorrow. Luckily Bonanza serves more as an access lift, meaning all of the runs which it services will still be open. Another good note is that we will now be opening the lifts early tomorrow morning at 8:30 am to alleviate any congestion in the Base Area, I would suggest you take advantage of it. How should you access the mountain? There are three different ways:
1) Take the Eagle Lift up and ski/ride down Temptation to King Con Lift. While you're here you should take a couple laps, these runs are always in great condition! From here you can take the Silverlode lift to access the entire mountain.
2) Take PayDay Lift to Ski Team Lift. If you're looking for great advanced terrain Ski Team has got it. If you want something a little more forgiving take 3/4 Load to Claim Jumper and down to Silverlode.
3) If you park in the First Time parking lot jump on First Time Lift and take it up to Ski Team Lift. Then follow the directions above.
There is a lot of great terrain on the mountain and incredible conditions! The snow conditions are just about as good as they get. We are expecting another storm to dump some powder tomorrow night. You don't want to miss it!
I'll see you on the slopes.
