Sitting on the sofa watching football this Sunday afternoon has been made much more pleasant by the fact that as I've been relaxing Mother Nature has been giving us a nice taste of winter with some flurries through the morning. We finally had colder temperature move into the area yesterday afternoon and we were able to make snow for about 15 hours last night! Our snowmaking crew had been chomping at the bit to get the guns up and running but they are dependent on wet bulb temperatures that are at 28 degrees or colder to get things going. A great explanation of this can be found on the York Snow web site, while this page details a lot of the science behind snowmaking, I just know that our snowmakers do a great job of putting a ton of snow down when the conditions permit!
